On the second day, you’ll be leaving for Gangotri from the Yamunotri helipad and reaching the Harsil helipad that lies amidst the fantastic lush valleys of Uttarakhand.

It is usually suggested that one should visit the Gangotri temple right from the helipad, which is just 22 km from the helipad and one can reach there in around 50 minutes. The temple is situated on the banks of Bhagirathi River and the point from where it is originated is holy River Ganga.

The temple is at a height of 3100m. The name Ganga comes from Devprayag where it meets Alaknanda River. Now, talking about Gaumukh in the Gangotri Glacier, this is the starting point of Ganges River and is a 19km trek from here.

After darshan, you can leave for your hotel so that you can have your lunch and rest for some time. Not to worry, you won’t be spending your whole evening in the hotel rooms. Step out and take an evening walk in the nearby villages. You can even pick some good-quality woolens from there.

Day 3: Gangotri to Kedarnath

Make sure you don’t spend the whole night wandering in the villages because you need to start early next day (day 3). You’ll be leaving from the Harsil helipad by 9:00 am and then change the chopper at Guptkashi helipad due to government by-laws to reach Kedarnath.
